The Flyers were ultra impressive in their season-opening win over the Golden Knights. Philadelphia got the win at Vegas to spoil their home opener on a night they also raised the Western Conference Champion banner to the rafters. Now the Flyers take on an Avalanche team that is off a surprisingly strong season but may have taken a couple steps back coming into this season. Though the Avalanche won their home opener the victory came against a Wild team that is also is on a downward trajectory. The Flyers are a team on the rise and finally appear to have nearly all the right pieces in place. Since they don't play again until their home opener on Tuesday, the Flyers are fully focused on the task at hand here. The road team won both meetings between these clubs last season and the Flyers have won each of their last two visits to Denver. The Avs have lost 39 of 60 when off of a divisional game.
