For the Gators, a strong performance against Miami would be a great way to kick off the season and start erasing the memories of a tough 2023. Head coach Billy Napier needs a solid start to ease the pressure and show that the program is heading in the right direction.
On the other side, the Miami Hurricanes are buzzing with excitement over Cam Ward’s potential. His presence and performance could be a key factor in Miami's playoff hopes. If Ward lives up to the hype, the Hurricanes could make a serious push this year.
Cam Ward’s numbers at Washington State were impressive, with 48 passing touchdowns and 13 rushing scores over two seasons. His dual-threat capability and playmaking skills are there, and he will be throwing to Xavier Restrepo who will be getting a lot of hype as well.
We like Florida here though. Graham Mertz’s efficiency and decision-making are definitely strengths for the Gators. With a completion rate of 72% and only three interceptions last season, he’s proven to be a reliable quarterback who can manage the game well. Returning most of his offensive line is a big plus, as it should provide him with solid protection and time to make plays. We like the Gators to hang tough here.
