USC is indeed at a pivotal moment in their football program's history. The transition from the Pac-12 to the Big Ten in 2024 marks a significant shift, and it comes at a time when the team is undergoing considerable changes.
Losing Caleb Williams, the Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback, who was drafted #1 overall by the Chicago Bears, probably stings but we do believe in Miller Moss. Miller actually had a better QB ranking than Caleb in his limited action last year.
With only five starters returning on offense, including three on the offensive line, there is some continuity in protecting Moss. However, the lack of returning skill players might be a challenge, as it can take time for new players to develop chemistry and find their rhythm in Lincoln Riley's system.
On the defensive side, returning four starters suggests that USC will need to integrate new talent quickly to compete at a high level. The transition to the Big Ten will likely demand a stronger emphasis on physicality and defense, given the different style of play that the Big Ten is known for compared to the Pac-12.
Remember this is on a neutral field at Allegiant Stadium in Vegas, so there will be a ton of USC fans in attendance, and the line has moved towards USC since opening at 6.5 back in April.
We think USC does well here and we will grab the points.
