Major
(NCAAB) Long Beach State vs. CS Northridge,
Point Spread: -3.50 | -107.00 Long Beach State (Away)
Result: Loss
Yes, recently Long Beach State has leveled off, but they are drastically improved and our metrics suggest the oddsmakers have not completely caught up to them. They are 11-5 their last 16 and since getting Tyler Lamb in the line-up have responded very positively to straight up losses. They are 4-1 straight up and against the spread off a loss with him, but the only back-to-back setbacks was the first opportunity with him as he was breaking into the line-up, so they are a perfect 4-0 since.

Since the arrival of Travis Hammonds and Tyler Lamb, the 49ers have turned things around after a 1-9 start. Tyler Lamb, a junior transfer from UCLA, became eligible for the 49ers on December 19, and has immediately had a huge impact. Lamb scored 20 points off of the bench against USC, helping the 49ers earn their first win over a Pac-12 opponent at home since 1999 in a 72-71 win. Lamb has scored in double-figures in 15 of the 18 games he has played with the 49ers, and is averaging 15.3 points per game.

The 49ers also bring in freshman Travis Hammonds, who joined Long Beach State after enrolling for the spring semester. Hammonds ranks fifth on the team in scoring, averaging 6.1 points per game with 3.1 boards per game.

Long Beach State has enjoyed one of their best runs against a conference opponent against Cal State Northridge, having won nine straight games against the Matadors, and three straight on the road.
