Pirates at Cardinals
(MLB) Pirates (PIT) vs. Cardinals (STL),
Money Line: -130.00 Cardinals (STL) (Home)
Result: Win
We have learned not to overreact to wins over the Marlins, so we are inclined to pump the brakes a bit on Bucs starter Bailey Falter, who shut down Miami on two hits in his most-recent start last Wednesday. But this is the same Falter who recently posted a 6.53 ERA in June, and cannot count on help from his inconsistent offense, blanked again last night at Busch Stadium, is another concern. Last night, the Cardinals again dealt with Paul Skenes, beating him for a second time, and note that Lance Lynn returned from a stint on the injured list and pitched as well as he did before he went on the shelf, allowing just one run in 5 IP of a 2-1 win vs. the Reds last Wednesday. Going back to mid-July, in his last four starts, Lynn has spun a 1.71 ERA. Play Cards on Money Line

Among Lynn's more-recent outings was five innings of shutout ball vs. the Pirates back on July 23 at PNC park, an eventual 2-1 St Louis win. Play Cardinals on Run Line
