White Sox at Angels
(MLB) White Sox (CWS) vs. Angels (LAA),
Money Line: 145.00 White Sox (CWS) (Away)
Result: Loss
They're not done yet! The Chisox are suddenly displaying a bit of bottle as they make a last-ditch effort to avoid becoming the MLB tam with the most losses in the modern era. Three wins in a row have put them at 36-115 and within striking distance of the '62 expansion Mets and their 40-120 mark of infamy, and better yet the Pale Hose seem to have found a team they can beat in the fading Angels, who feel meekly 8-4 last night at the Big A.
It was wire-to-wire on Monday night, with the Sox jumping on Reid Detmers in the first inning, and Tuesday Halos starter Griffin Canning (5.35 ERA) continues to pitch erratically, shelled by the Twins last Tuesday, allowing ten runs (nine earned) and 9 hits (three homers) in just 5 2/3 IP of a 10-5 loss at Target Field. Now, the 60-90, Angels sit on six straight losses, are 24-44 their last 68, and within sight of exceeding their all-time franchise high of 95 losses. Meanwhile, tonight's Pale Hose starter Davis Martin has at times pitched in some bad luck in recent weeks, not rewarded for some good efforts vs. the Bosox and Tigers. His ERA of 4.14 is also hardly the worst we have seen this season, Play White Sox on Money Line
