Bruins at Canadiens
(NHL) Bruins (BOS) vs. Canadiens (MTL),
Total: 5.50 | 102.00 Under
Result: Win
The Bruins (winless in nine) have disappeared into Boston Harbor out of the East playoff discussion due to anemic offense. In the middle of this slump, Boston went seven straight games scoring just one or two goals before netting three in yet another loss (this one vs. the Caps) on Tuesday. Joe Sacco almost certainly won't be retained on the bench and have the interim lifted from his title at the end of the season, and there is enormous pressure on Jeremy Swayman in goal to keep Boston within earshot every night. (Note the Bs weren't scoring a lot when Brad Marchand was still around, either.) Meanwhile, Montreal hasn't been too explosive lately, but back-to-back wins have the Canadiens sitting in the last East wild card spot, while steady Sam Montembeault in goal has stopped 70 of 76 shots across his past three starts.
