The 2025 WAC tournament is underway, and one quarterfinal matchup features perennial WAC contender Grand Canyon taking on UT Arlington. Grand Canyon is a significant favorite, and I don't think this one winds up being particularly close.

Grand Canyon earned the #2 seed in the tournament after going 23-7 overall and 13-3 in league play. The Lopes rely on an active defense, with their 9.6 steals per game ranking 10th in the entire country (they also rank in the top 20 with 5.1 blocks per game, too). Offensively, Grand Canyon has four players averaging double-figures in scoring, and they've beaten UT Arlington twice already this season.

The Mavericks, meanwhile, come in ice-cold. They're 2-6 over the last eight games, and they've struggled mightily on offense (especially from three-point range). I just don't think they'll be able to get much going against Grand Canyon's defense here, and for that reason, I'll happily back the favorites.
