The New York Mets and the New York Yankees battle it out for the bragging rights to NYC. The Yankees swept the Mets the last time they met. The New York Mets are coming off a sweep of the Phillies. The Yankees continue to struggle as they were only able to score just four total runs in the first three games against Toronto, before scoring four in yesterday's win. The Mets will send Max Scherzer to the mound. He is 9-2 with a 2.15 ERA and a .93 WHIP. He has gone 5-1 on the road this season.
The New York Yankees are just 2-8 in their last 10 games. Domingo German will make the start for the Yankees. He is 1-2 with a 4.45 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP. The Yankee's bottom part of the order just hasn't been hitting or producing runs. If Mad Max can control the top of the order the Yankees will find it difficult to score runs. Scherzer should be able to go deep in this game but if not the Mets have a top 10 pen to back him up. I have more faith in the Mets scoring runs than I do the Yankees.
