On Tuesday I am backing the Minnesota Twins with Mike Pelfrey on the hill over the Boston Red Sox and Clay Bucholz.
The Red Sox are actually favored on the road despite the fact that Minnesota has a better record and they're playing at home.
In fact, the Twins are one of the best teams when playing at home, having lost just one series there all year long (April 27-29 vs. Detroit). Minny improved to 16-6 in the month of May after yesterday's 7-2 win over Boston.
Bucholz, Boston's supposed ace, is only 2-5 on the season with a 4.58 ERA and hasn't won back to back starts all year.
He's opposed by Mike Pelfrey, who checks in at 3-1 on the season with a 3.00 ERA and hasn't gotten much run support in four of his starts. But considering Bucholz has been far from their ACE for the Red Sox, I don't doubt for a minute the Twins will be able to score runs.
Take the Twins here on Tuesday as they are 15-6 at home and they are 7-3 their last 10 games and playing some very good ball.
