BIG 10 BEATDOWN
(NCAAF) Michigan vs. Minnesota,
Point Spread: 3.50 | -110.00 Minnesota (Home)
Result: Loss
Big 10 football opens up with a clash between two top 25 teams. The Michigan Wolverines were a disappointing 9-4 last season and were hammered by Alabama in the Citrus Bowl, 35-16. The Minnesota Golden Gophers, went 11-2 last year and put an exclamation point on the season with a 31-24 win over Auburn in the Outback Bowl. Michigan has lost five key players to Covid opt-outs including their best wide receiver in Nico Collins. They will be breaking in a new Quarterback in Joe Milton who many people believe is the best quarterback Michigan has had in a while. He may need to be as they have to replace 4 of their starting five offensive linemen. They will need to sure up the defensive backfield as they are replacing both cornerbacks and a starting safety from last year's team.

Minnesota returns all their weapons from their offense last season. Tanner Morgan returns at quarterback for the Gophers. He threw for more than 3,200 yards with 30 touchdowns and only seven interceptions. His favorite target returns in Rashod Bateman. Bateman had 1200 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns last season. Top running back Mahomed Ibrahim returns after compiling 1,700 yards and 16 touchdowns in two seasons with the Gophers.

It is going to be a cold night in Minnesota with temperatures in the 20's. Minnesota has the more experienced quarterback and more established offensive weapons. The loss of Collins could really hurt Michigans offense going with a new quarterback. You have to love getting points with the home team in Minnesota who have high expectations after last season.

Play on Minnesota.
