4% FRIDAY FOOTBALL EXTRAVAGANZA
(NCAAF) Owls (FAU) vs. Spartans (MSU),
Point Spread: -13.00 | -110.00 Spartans (MSU) (Home)
Result: Loss
The Florida Atlantic Owls head north to face the Michigan State Spartans. Last season FAU finished with a 4-8 record while MSU also ended with a record of 4-8. FAU will have a new signal caller with Cam Fancher taking over under center. He comes in from Marshall where he threw for 2,162 yards and 11 touchdowns. Lining up behind him will be another transfer in running back CJ Campbell Jr. He comes from FSU where he ran for 117 yards in limited action. Not only did the Big Ten take teams from the Pac-12 during the offseason, but MSU got their coach from Oregon State in Jonathan Smith. He brought with him highly regarded quarterback Aidan Chiles. Chiles last season had a 68.6% completion percentage with 309 yards and four touchdowns. Tight end Jack Velling with his 29 receptions for 438 total yards and eight touchdowns and offensive lineman Tanner Miller came over with Childs. Florida Atlantic has a road record of 1-20 in their last 21 games against non-conference opponents. Michigan State is 6-1 in their last seven games at home against non-conference opponents. New Head Coach Smith will want to set the tone early for the Spartans and their faithful. There is no better way to do that than a blow out win at home to start the season.
