I’m on the Under 8.5 Runs in this As / Bluejays game for these reasons:
- I like the As to potentially win this matchup due to JP sears on the mound. He’s likely to miss bats as well as Chris bassitt the other side for Toronto. Toronto have the tougher pitching matchup, but Oakland will have issues vs a pitcher like Bassitt solely because they aren’t as good of a batting rotation and are on the road.
- Both pitchers have strong strikeout numbers and should both pitch well into the 5-6th innings. That alone makes me confident we can have a game with a score of under 5 runs heading into the late stages. Also, Bluejays don’t hit well vs Lefties, just .237 overall as a team.
