I’m on the Mariners Runline vs the Angels for these reasons:
- Angels are terrible against right handed pitchers, batting an average of .189 the last 15 games, and an average of .225 over the entire season vs Righties. One of the best pitchers for Seattle will be on the mound today, Right handed pitcher Bryce Miller who has a 3.23 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and 143 strikeouts in 150 innings pitched. Seattle are known for their pitching and limited damage when talking about runs per game (Best ERA average in MLB) and I don’t expect the Angels to do much run scoring at all here, even at home.
- Caden Dana is making his debut for the Angels today and I love fading debutants, especially when their offense isn’t going to back them up. Caden is going to be pitching at a much faster rate, given how quickly the Angels will be booted off the batting plate when Bryce accumulates outs at a high clip, so not only will Dana be versing the better bats in this game, his endurance will be tested with the quick turnover of his offense. Mariners bat .247 the last 10 games vs righties, and should have no issue putting work in at the plate, on the young prospect.
Official Play: Mariners Runline -1.5
Side Bet: Bryce Miller over 5.5 Strikeouts
Hail Mary: Under 8.5 Runs
