I’m on the over 148.5 of this Central Arkansas @ BYU game for these reasons:

- Odds have BYU torching Central Ark, and that tells me they’re in the ball park range of scoring 40+ in each half at home here. However, the total is pretty high for a game in which the odds makers think that Central Ark could get dusted by 30. To me that signals that we as bettors have some value betting on the over, because trusting in the Central Ark to not get beat by 30, is a bigger number and not as safe as us betting on Central Ark to score 30 in each half, which is all we need to ensure that this bet cashes. Central Ark can score 60 points in this game and still get beat by 30 points, is all that I am saying.

- First year HC for BYU. That gives hope for Central Ark to pull the upset. Miscues and bad decisions could be early and often for a team facing a Central Ark Team that has an experienced coach in John Schulman who’s been with the team, unlike Kevin Young for BYU.

- Central Ark averaged 72 points last season, and as road underdogs they need to quicken the pace early to get or sustain a lead vs BYU who were also a fast paced team but could opt for a slow battle given the newness to their unit.
