The Dodgers are coming into this game playing very well in their recent games as they have won their last 3 straight as well as 4 of their last 5 games. They are coming off of a sweep of the Athletics in their last series but they did not just sweep the worst team in the MLB, they destroyed them in every game. Now they are going up against a Padres team that is still under .500 this season but has been playing much better as they have won 5 of their last 6 games. Their wins in that span came against the struggling Rockies who are last in their division and the Rangers who have not been as dominant recently as they have been all season so as well as the Padres have been playing recently, they are going to struggle more against this very hot Dodgers team with one of the better offenses in the league. Yu Darvish is starting for the Padres here and he is 8-7 with a 4.53 ERA this season. He is coming off of a good start in his last one but he has not been pitching well this season as he has been allowing a lot of runs. He has not been good at home this year as he has allowed at least 3 earned runs in 3 of his last 4 as well as 4 of his last 6 starts there, and he has also struggled to follow up a good start this season with another good start right after. The Dodgers have one of the best offenses in the league and are very hot from the number of runs they were scoring in their last series, they are going to score runs on the Padres here. Bobby Miller is starting for the Dodgers here and he is 6-2 with a 4.37 ERA this season. He has not been great as he does allow 3 earned runs in quite a few of his starts, but he has not allowed more than that in his last 3 straight as well as 4 of his last 5 starts and also has a very strong offense to back him up here. The Dodgers are starting to surge in this 2nd half of the season and they will be hungry to beat up on a Padres team that has been struggling all season. The Dodgers will win this game.
