UC San Diego is coming into this game with a 5-5 record this season and they have not been playing well in their recent games. They opened the season with 4 straight wins at home but they have lost 5 of their last 6 games since then with their only win in that span coming at home against a school who is not in Division I. They have also played in 3 road games this season, losing 2 of those games by 10+ points while the other loss was by 6 points against Pepperdine and they are coming off of that loss in their last game. They are going up against a Sacramento State team that is 2-7 this season but they have been playing much better in their recent games. They do have a road win in their last 3 games as they beat UC Davis and followed that up with a road loss to Long Beach State by 10 points, but they are also coming off of a close 2 point loss at home in their last game against Cal State Fullerton which they played very well in that game. They have also been playing a lot of games away from home this season with only 2 home games all year so far, winning 1 against a school who is not in Division I while the other was a 2 point loss in their last game. They have played much better at home this year and after such a close loss in their last game, they will be hungry to get up for this game and pick up their 1st win at home this season against a Division I school that has been struggling in recent games.
