The Buccaneers are coming into this game after beating the Eagles at home 32-9 in the Wild Card Round. The Buccaneers dominated the Eagles in that game as they got out to an early lead and never really let the Eagles back into the game. The Buccaneers have been flying under the radar all season as they were left for dead when Tom Brady retired and were the biggest dog to win the NFC South this year. All year they were a competitive team in the division and they are a team that has been getting better in every week. There were a lot of bumps with the Bucs at the beginning of the season as Baker Mayfield was still learning the offense and getting used to the weapons he has been throwing to, but now he has been rolling in this offense, putting up some of the best numbers in his career over the last 2 months. This team has also been playing the whole season with a chip on their shoulder after Brady left and Baker has fit right in as he has many things left to prove still. The defense has also been playing very well for the Bucs recently as they have a lot of young talent performing at the top of their game. They only allowed 9 points in their playoff game last week against the Eagles and their defense has also allowed 12 points or less in 3 of their last 4 games. They are going up against a Lions team that had a great season, winning the NFC North for the 1st time in years, and they also have a lot of confidence after winning their 1st playoff game in over 30 years. The Lions got up early on the Rams last week but they only won 24-23 as their offense really stalled in the 2nd half, scoring just 3 points as the Rams started to come back. The Rams do not have a great defense either so the Lions are going to have a lot more of a challenge here against the Bucs defense with the way they have been playing recently. The Bucs also have the extra incentive of having lost to the Lions at home back in October but the Bucs have improved a lot since then and this is going to be a very different game. The Buccaneers are good enough to win this game outright in an upset but they will definitely keep it close enough to cover. The Buccaneers will cover the spread in this game.
