AMEDEUS' CBB HARDCOURT HAMMER!
(NCAAB) Richmond vs. Virginia Tech,
Point Spread: 5.50 | -106.00 Richmond (Away)
Result: Loss
Richmond is coming into this game with a 23-9 record this season and they were the best team in their conference during the regular season at 15-3. They fizzled out of their 1st round of the A10 Tournament with a loss against Saint Joseph's and they have lost their last 2 straight games now, but they are going to be hungry to bounce back here as they did win 6 straight games prior to losing these last 2. Richmond has also been very good on defense this season as they are 30th in the country for points allowed per game at 66.1 and even in their recent games they have allowed 66 points or less in their last 3 straight as well as 5 of their last 6 games, including their 2 losses in that span as well. They are going up against a Virginia Tech team that is 18-14 this season and they were 10-10 in the conference. Virginia Tech ended the season playing well as they have won 3 of their last 4 games, but they are also coming off of a loss in their last game as they fizzled out of the ACC Tournament in their 1st game played with a 10 point loss to Florida State. Their defense has not been as good in these recent games either. They are averaging 71.1 points allowed per game this season but recently that has gone up as they have allowed at least 76 points in their last 2 straight as well as 5 of their last 6 games. Richmond has a much better defense and a very good team that was dominant in their conference all season, they have the defense to cause a lot of scoring problems for Virginia Tech here and they are going to get up for this game as they are playing a "big brother" in-state rival. Richmond will cover the spread in this game.
