In a battle between one of the league's top offenses vs. one of the top defenses, I'm betting on the offensive-focused team.
The Magic are at their best defending around the rim, and while the Pacers sport the eighth-highest rim FG%, they're even better from the mid-range (4th) and three-point range (4th). Indianapolis boasts the highest effective field goal percentage in the NBA, as well. In short, the Pacers don't need to dominate the Magic in the paint to win and cover. In fact, they were outscored in the paint in their last game versus Philly but still managed 132 points.
On the other side of the court, I feel confident that the Pacers can keep the Magic in check. Orlando is an offensively challenged team, ranking 27th in effective field goal percentage, including 17th at the rim, 28th in the mid-range, and 28th from three. They take 40.2 percent of their shots at the rim, the highest percentage in the league, but that's the area where Indy plays its best defense (11th in opponent rim FG%).
