I'm backing Hunter Brown and the Astros on Tuesday night. The Astros righty is 4-2 with a 2.26 ERA in the second half of the season, improving on his 4.39 ERA in the 1st half. His 3.29 xERA indicates he's due for more positive regression, too. With a 22.0% hard-hit percentage, he's a good candidate to sap the Padres' powerful lineup of runs.

Houston was held in check on Monday night by Yu Darvish, but they will bounce back against Michael King and an overtaxed Padres bullpen (see bullpen usage last two games) in game two of the series.
