VANDY +18.5
(NCAAF) Longhorns (TEX) vs. Commodores (VAN),
Point Spread: 18.50 | -110.00 Commodores (VAN) (Home)
Result: Win
Are the Longhorns ready for the Commodores? They will be in for a rude awakening if they don't take the 'Dores seriously on Saturday. Texas thought it could waltz into the SEC and take the conference by storm, but that hasn't worked out. Unless, of course, you count wins over Mississippi State and longtime Big 12 rival Oklahoma as dominating the conference. The Longhorns looked overmatched against Georgia, a team that looked overmatched against Alabama, who lost 40-35 to Vanderbilt...

Vandy is an efficient offensive machine, ranking 11th in time of possession, 10th in passing efficiency, and 28th in completion percentage. It takes great care of the football (two total turnovers this season) and has an electric signal-caller in Diego Pavia (1,391 passing yards, 11:1 TD:INT ratio and 470 rushing yards with three rushing scores).

In my estimation, the Horns need to win the turnover battle to cover the 18.5-point spread. Considering they have turned it over 12 times and face a Commodores team with a +6 turnover margin, I don't see that happening.
