I really believe in the value of the Padres ML anywhere under -140 this evening. For those who don't know, I'm a San Diego transplant, having moved here four years ago after spending most of my life in New Jersey. I live directly across from the stadium and feel confident in my ability to wager on the team given how close I am to the action, both literally and figuratively...

Anyway, after a few games of taking in this year's squad, I have targeted Tuesday's game as my best bet. The Padres' offense has been hit or miss so far in 2024, but I'm not concerned they'll drop the ball tonight against Cardinals SP Miles Mikolas, who was rocked by the Dodgers in his season opener and was not effective last season (4.78 ERA). The Pads' lineup is strong up the middle — off a loss with SP Yu Darvish (1.04 ERA and 10 Ks in two starts) on the mound, San Diego will rise to the occasion.
