Kansas City is red-hot, and while it's a challenge to keep winning streaks alive, I feel confident it has at least one more win in it. I watched most of Michael Wacha's starts for the Padres last season and have been impressed with his start to 2024 (five hits allowed with 13 strikeouts in 12.0 IP). He was especially dominant in his last outing (zero runs on two hits with eight Ks in 7.0 IP vs. the White Sox).

The Mets' Friday starter, Luis Severino, is tough to trust against KC's hot lineup (24 runs in their last two games). He was roughed up in his first start of the season (six runs on 11 hits in 5.0 IP vs. Milwaukee) and took a major step back last season with the Yankees (6.65 ERA and 1.65 WHIP in 19 appearances), who opted to let him walk in free-agency after spending his first eight years with the club.
