Can you trust either starting pitcher today?

Chris Bassitt is struggling on the road (eight runs on 15 hits and five walks in two starts), just as he did last season (4.50 ERA and 19 HRs allowed in 16 starts). San Diego can be tough to trust offensively, but it's hitting .273/.359/.431/.790 during day games (nine GP) this season. It sports a much higher BA versus right-handers (.264) than left-handers (.214), as well. Toronto's bullpen (5.19 ERA and 15 HRs allowed in 2024) isn't trustworthy behind Bassitt, either.

Joe Musgrove has also been a tough pitcher to back this season (6.29 ERA and 1.77 WHIP). He's putting too many runners on base, as he's struggling with his command (seven walks in his last two outings). He has fanned more than five batters just once in his first five starts of 2024, as well. Searching for a series sweep, the Blue Jays come into this game with plenty of momentum (6-1 SU in their last seven games).

With that said, I'm betting on the over at 8 total runs scored in Sunday's Toronto-San Diego game.
