We're picking up some momentum! I have won five of my last six MLB bests, but I feel like I'm just getting started!
On Wednesday, I'm targeting the Royals ML at the value price of +130... Seth Lugo was solid as a rock for San Diego last year and has continued his impressive ways with Kansas City in 2024 (4-1 with a 1.66 ERA). He held Detroit scoreless on three hits with nine Ks in seven innings in his last start. Lugo faces a Toronto lineup that's been underperforming this season (minus-26 run differential) and hasn't looked good recently, scoring three or fewer runs in six of their last seven games. Not coincidentally, Toronto is 2-6 in its last eight games.
The Royals' offense can be counted on to give Lugo the run support he needs. Jays SP Chris Bassitt has been inconsistent and is coming off a rough performance (seven runs on nine hits, including two HRs). He has allowed at least one HR in five of his six starts this year and offered up 28 long balls in 33 starts last season. Behind him, the Blue Jays bullpen has been a trainwreck (4.76 ERA and 19 HR allowed).
