#469/470 ASA PLAY ON 8* Over 52 Points – Detroit Lions vs Minnesota Vikings, Sunday at 1:00 PM ET - We expect the Vikings to play much better offensively coming off stinker @ Philly on Monday night. They scored just 7 points but had plenty of chances throwing 2 interceptions in the endzone and another at the Eagle 20 yard line. In their home opener they averaged 6.5 YPP vs a very solid GB defense but only put up 23 points as they built a big lead and milked it in the 2nd half. Minnesota should have plenty of success vs a Detroit defense that has allowed 65 points in 2 games and ranks 30th in the NFL in total defense. So the question is, can the Lions keep up in this game? If the first 2 games are any indication the answer is yes. This has been one of the most surprising offenses in the NFL thus far ranking 2nd in scoring, 4th in total offense, and 6th in YPP offense. They are also tied for 1st in the league with KC averaging 1 point for every 11.4 yards gained. The Minnesota defense struggled big time last week allowing 7.1 YPP and the Eagles had 24 points at half, had a big lead, and ate clock in the 2nd half not scoring a single point. If the game was more competitive, we have no doubt the Eagles would have piled on many more points. 4 of the last 6 meetings in this rivalry have reached at least 54 points and with the improvement from Detroit offensively and the projection that Minnesota’s offense will be much better this year as well with a new offensive mind as their HC, this should be high scoring as well. Both have been faster paced so far this season as well each ranking in the top 10. This projected score based on the spread is Minnesota 29, Detroit 23. With perfect conditions in the dome we feel both have a shot at getting to 30+. Over is the play.
