Superior defense, far consistent goaltending and home ice should all add up to a victory here in Game 3 for St. Louis. The Blues split the first two games of this series in Dallas despite failing to put together three strong periods in a row. The Blues still can play better - and that should come here.
St. Louis defeated Dallas at home during both regular season meetings. The Stars have only defeated the Blues twice during the past nine meetings.
A big reason for this is Dallas does not match up well to St. Louis. The Blues are too physical and strong for the Stars, who remain likely to still be missing Tyler Seguin, who is second on the team in points and goals.
The Blues have a huge plus in goal with a hot Brian Elliott. The Stars, on the other hand, aren't getting consistent goal play. Dallas coach Lindy Ruff isn't even sure who he's going to start in net, Kari Lehtonen or Antti Niemi. Each goalie can make him look bad. The Stars don't have the defense either to protect a weak goalie.
