Stephen Nover Free MLB Friday Play
(MLB) Toronto vs. Colorado,
Total: 12.50 | -110.00 Under
Result: Loss
The Rockies are in full rebuild using lots of young players. Most of these youngsters, particularly centerfielder Brenton Doyle, have been much better defensively than on offense.

The result is Colorado is averaging only 3.2 runs in its last seven games. That's playing four of those games at Coors Field, too.

I don't see the Rockies scoring much facing Toronto lefty Hyun Jin Ryu, who has a 2.25 ERA in five starts since returning from injury in August. Ryu has yielded just two earned runs in his last four starts spanning 19 innings.

The Rockies rank last in baseball in batting average against lefties at . 232.

I find Toronto's offense to be overrated. The Blue Jays rank a mediocre 16th in homers and 14th in runs. They are missing two of their four best offensive players, too, with Bo Bichette and Matt Chapman out with injuries.

That makes things easier for Colorado starting pitcher Chris Flexen. I don't regard Flexen as anything more than a stopgap veteran for the Rockies. But this is a high total and the Blue Jays' offense is missing emerging superstar Bichette and Chapman.
