Why such respect for the Maple Leafs? Do they really deserve it?

I'd say not. Toronto has lost its last two games. Both came at home in a big favorite role against the Sabres and Canucks.

Maybe the law of averages catches up and the Maple Leafs halt their losing streak. But it's worth throwing out a peanut at this large price to fade the Maple Leafs on the road especially considering how bad their defense has been lately.

The Blue Jackets are 8-5 in their last 13 games. Their past four games all have been decided by one goal. They are 3-3 during their past six home games with all of the defeats occurring by one goal.

Patrik Laine is on a hot streak with 26 points, including 15 goals, during his last 16 games. He can take advantage of the Maple Leafs' porous defense.

Columbus edged the Maple Leafs, 4-3, in overtime at home on Feb. 22 during the previous meeting.
