Result: Loss
There's too much love for the road Twins and their new starter, Pablo Lopez, in this opening-day matchup.

Minnesota may be a popular choice to win the AL Central Division this season, but the Twins were 28-40 after the All-Star break last season.
Newcomer Lopez is a groundball type pitcher who has never made an opening-day start. Minnesota is 0-2 the past two years on opening day.

The new rule banning shifts is going to hurt pitchers such as Lopez, whose best pitches are his fastball and sinker.

Kansas City starter Zack Grienke is 39 now, but still has his effective moments. One of those moments came during opening day of last season when Greinke held the Guardians to one run in 5 2/3 runs in Kansas City's 3-1 home victory. That was Kansas City's third straight opening day home victory.

Grienke held the Twins to two earned runs in 10 1/3 innings in two home starts against them last year.
