The Rangers have been a great story this season winning 40 of their first 62 games to build a 5-game lead in the AL West Division. However, the Rangers are trumped by the Rays.

Nathan Eovaldi has taken up the slack of Jacob deGrom being lost for the season producing his finest year - so far. Eovaldi is 8-2 with a 2.24 ERA. Regression should be coming, though. Eovaldi's ERA the past four seasons are 3.87, 3.75, 3.72 and 5.99. He also doesn't have a good history against the Rays with a 5-6 record and 4.04 ERA in 15 lifetime appearances, including 13 starts.

The Rays not only lead the league in homers and slugging percentage, but also rank first in stolen bases and on-base percentage. They win in a number of ways.

Tampa Bay will be starting its prize rookie Taj Bradley, who has 48 strikeouts in 35 innings. That's an average of 12.3 strikeouts per nine innings.
