This is an 8 BLOWOUT on the Mets.

The Mets are locked in a tight battle for the final Wildcard spot in the NL, and they're going to be cautious to not overlook these types of matchup mismatches over the remaining month and a half of the regular season.

I think that Jose Quintana (6-6, 3.89 ERA) is the correct call in this matchup. Quintana continues to look stronger as the season has worn on, most recently coming off a win vs. the Twins, allowing one run over six innings and striking out five. In fact, in July he posted a tiny 2.05 ERA and miniscule 0.98 WHIP.

The home side counters with the volatile Griffin Canning (3-10, 5.25 ERA), who was most recently shelled for six runs over six innings in a fortunate no-decision vs. the Rockies in his last outing. He's now allowed at least four runs in six of his last nine outings and everything points to another "long" night for the struggling right-hander in my opinion.

For all the reasons listed above, the play is indeed on NEW YORK.
