This is an 8* PITCHERS DUEL on the UNDER Jays/Tigers.

Each side has been involved in some higher-scoring games of late, but I'm finally anticipating a bit of a "duel" here in the opener of this series.

Toronto is 21-26 overall, including 10-14 on the road, while Detroit is 23-25 overall, including 10-13 at home.

The Jays went 1-1 vs. the White Sox this week at home, including a 9-2 victory yesterday.

Detroit has seen the total go OVER in six straight now after its fourth straight loss in yesterday's 8-3 setback at KC.

Despite that though, note that the Tigers have still seen the total go UNDER the number in eight of their last 12 after playing to five or more straight OVERS in a row.

Kevin Gausman (2-3, 4.89 ERA) gets the call for the Jays, hwile Jack Flaherty (1-3, 3.79) counters for the home side.

Gausman gave up three runs over six innings while striking out six in a no-decision vs. the Rays on Saturday.

Flaherty conceded two runs over six innings and struck out nine in a win over the D-Backs in his last trip to the hill.

These two veterans have turned the corner and are poised for a classic "duel" here in Detroit tonight.
