This is a 10* TOTAL OF THE WEEK on the UNDER between the Dallas Mavericks and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Thunder can eliminate the Mavericks and say goodbye to a frustrating first round with a big effort tonight. We're expecting the home side to play with a concerted and disciplined effort on the defensive end and for this total to ultimately fall below the posted number once the final horn sounds (OKC star Kevin Durant was ejected in the final minute of Saturday's 119-108 win in Game 4 for some shoving and jawing). This is a major mismatch as the aging Mavericks would back their way into the postseason and have been trying to get the job done with a patchwork starting line-up after many key injuries. Dallas did somehow manage to win Game 2, 85-84 and if it has any shot at stealing another one, it will have to employ the same game-plan, which is to slow the pace down from the opening tip until the final horn. Obviously Dallas can't get into a "track meet" with the high-flying Thunder and expect to win. Note that the Mavs have seen the total go UNDER the number in 12 of 20 this year after a loss by ten points or more, while OKC has seen the total dip below the posted number in eight of ten this season as a home fav of 12.5 to 15 points. All signs point to a slower paced UNDER.
