This has been a high-scoring series. Game 1 went UNDER the number, Game 2 "pushed," but the last four in a row have blasted past the posted number. For the first time in the playoffs we saw a 5.5 in Game 6, but still the team's would score seven goals. If you're wagering on the NHL at this time of year, then breaking down these team's is kind of pointless, as surely you know the story lines for each. But to re-cap, the Lightning have been getting the job done in this series without their top goal scorer from the regular season (Steven Stamkos) and No. 1 goaltender Ben Bishop. Pittsburgh has been using rookie goaltender Matt Murray in the postseason and for the most part he's been pretty solid. Both clubs finished among the best on both ends of the ice and each possesses top special team's units. These teams are very evenly matched. This is a "situational" play for us, we simply feel that the stage is now finally set for a more tightly checked, lower-scoring goaltenders battle in this pivotal Game 7 with a trip to the Stanley Cup Finals on the line. And note that the Lightning have seen the total go UNDER the number in six of ten this year after playing to three or more consecutive OVERs, while the Penguins have seen the total dip below the posted number in five of eight this season in the same position.
