This is a 10* ASSASSIN on Colorado.

We don't subscribe to any single handicapping methodology, but instead feel that being flexible with ones approach is the best way to secure profits over the longterm. Sometimes we keep it simple, while other times we'll take into account numerous different factors, like motivation, scheduling and significant injuries. Recognizing classic "spot bets" is something we always do as well, IE: the "look ahead" spot, the "let down" spot and the "trap" game. One set of criteria which we almost always use when making our decisions are Against The Spread (ATS) statistics. Sometimes these stats can be overrated and other times they help foreshadow the outcome of a contest.

This particular play is based primarily on strong/relevant ATS trends and common sense:

Washington is 11-1 and with a victory tonight, will not only claim the Pac 12 title, but also punch its ticket to the playoff championship round. Colorado beat Utah at home last week and has been under valued all year in our opinion. The Buffs have a top 35 offense and a top 10 defense. The Huskies are 3rd in the nation in scoring and also have a top 10 defense. Will Washington get caught "looking ahead" to what might be? The pressure is on the Huskies and we think the spotlight is going to be a detractor tonight. Conversely, the Buffs clearly have nothing to lose.

The bottom line: Note that Colorado is 6-2 ATS in its last eight after a win against a conference rival and 4-2 ATS in its last six after two or more consecutive SU victories, while Washington is just 7-8 ATS in its last 15 off a win against a conference rival. Grab the points, play on COLORADO.
