10* WEST-CONF TOTAL OF WEEK (Warriors vs. Blazers!)
(NBA) Golden State vs. Portland,
Total: 220.00 | -110.00 Over
Result: Loss
Total: 220.00 | -110.00 Over
Result: Loss
This is a 10* TOTAL OF THE WEEK on the UNDER between the Golden State Warriors and the Portland Trailblazers.
We don't subscribe to any single handicapping methodology, but instead feel that being flexible with ones approach is the best way to secure profits over the longterm. Sometimes we keep it simple, while other times we'll take into account numerous different factors, like motivation, scheduling and significant injuries. Recognizing classic "spot bets" is something we always do as well, IE: the "look ahead" spot, the "let down" spot and the "trap" game. One set of criteria which we always use when making our decisions are Against The Spread (ATS) statistics.
This particular play is based on a few different factors:
As note that Golden State has seen the total go UNDER the number in 27 of 44 this year after three or more consecutive SU victories, while Portland has seen the total go UNDER the number in seven of 11 this season after three or more consecutive losses.
The bottom line: The numbers/trends point to a lower-scoring Game 4, but we also believe that the situation lends itself to a lower-scoring UNDER as well. The Blazers needed to win Game 3 to have any hopes at coming back in this series, and now that hope is long gone. We think Portland comes in deflated here. The Warriors are the highest scoring team in the league, but their main offensive weapon in Kevin Durant remains sidelined. Golden State's defense has been stout so far in this series and finished in the Top 10 in allowing just 104.5 per game in the regular season. This number is just a little low, play the UNDER.
