This is a 10* O/U ART OF WAR on the UNDER between the Boston Red Sox and the Texas Rangers.
Both of these starters are trending in the correct direction as we approach the mid-summer classic. We're expecting these capable hurlers to battle into the latter frames and we look for this one to ultimately fall below the posted number once it's all said and done:
David Price: He's 3-2 with a 4.61 ERA. Price most recently allowed three runs off six hits while striking out seven over seven innings in a victory over Minnesota on Thursday. Price continues to progress after returning to the rotation from major surgery and has now given up three runs or fewer in five of six starts.
Yu Darvish: He's 6-6 with a 3.11 ERA. Darvish most recently allowed three runs (two earned) off seven hits and a walk over six innings in an unfortunate 5-3 loss to the Tribe on Wednesday (also struck out six). It was his 12th quality start in 17 trips to the hill this year. To go along with his solid 3.11 ERA, Darvish also sports and elite 115:37 K:BB ratio in 107 frames this year (has a respectable 3.81 ERA at home).
The bottom line: Note that Boston has seen the total go UNDER the number in 35 of 63 against right-handed starters this year, while Texas has seen the total go UNDER in ten of 16 against southpaws. Play the UNDER.
