The Twins are currently 0-8 and one of two winless teams in all of baseball (Braves), they've been outscored by 20 runs so far, which is bad, but not as bad as the Braves -27 differential.
After being shut out yesterday, they try again for the first win of the season today behind Ervin Santana. Keep in mind that no team in baseball had started a season 0-8 since the Astros did it in 2010 at the nadir of their rebuild.


Santana managed seven strikeouts and threw a first pitch strike to 16 of the 26 hitters he faced. The odds of him pitching well today seem pretty good considering a 0.88 WHIP his L4 starts vs. the White Sox, which includes a 6-2 road win last season.

Minnesota hitters have had their chances; they've just failed to cover with RISP. Look for the Twins to be more aggressive and get the hits in this day game on Thursday afternoon. Also, Latos is coming over from the National League and theoretically should have a tougher time w/ lineups that feature the DH.
