This is an 8* "O/U SUPER-BLOWOUT" on the OVER between the Minnesota Twins and the Seattle Mariners.
The home side was shut out for the second time in three games last night as the Twins would steal the contest 2-0; suffice it to say, I look for these two underperforming lineups to finally break out with a big performance at the plate tonight. The struggling home side catches a break today in having to face confirmed gas-can Kyle Gibson (7-7, 4.17 ERA) who has gotten worse as the season has progressed; note that Gibson is 3-5 with a poor 5.54 ERA in ten road starts this year and is coming off his worst performance of the season in getting shelled for six runs and getting pulled in the second inning in his team's 6-5 home loss to the Yankees on Friday. The M's are going to have to wake up at the plate as they send the volatile Roenis Elias (7-7, 4.19 ERA) to the hill; Elias has lost back-to-back starts, giving up ten runs spanning his last 11 innings of work. And note that in his only start vs. Minnesota, the rookie southpaw gave up four runs over seven innings in a 4-3 loss on May 15th. Note that Minnesota has seen the total go OVER the number in three of five this year after shutting out its opponent. Expect these two starters to get chased early and for this total to go OVER the number as the game comes down the stretch.
