AAA's NATIONAL LEAGUE *Platinum Club* SPECIAL!
(MLB) NY Mets vs. Atlanta,
Money Line: -142.00 Atlanta (Home)
Result: Loss
Money Line: -142.00 Atlanta (Home)
Result: Loss
This is a 7* PLATINUM CLUB on the Atlanta Braves.
The Braves are on the outside looking in and will likely need more than just a little luck to make the postseason, still, manager Fredi Gonzalez said this after his team's 3-1 win over the Nationals on Wednesday: "For us, every game is Game 7." So the home side turns to ace Julio Teheran here to keep its slim hopes alive; Teheran (13-12, 2.89 ERA) has lost three straight starts despite posting a very respectable 2.70 ERA, unfortunate in receiving just a combined two runs of support in that span. Most recently Teheran gave up three unearned runs and three hits over nine innings ina 3-2 loss at Texas on Saturday. However, a date vs. the Mets is just what the doctor ordered to break the skid, Teheran has enjoyed a ton of success against New York, he's 3-1 with a 2.60 ERA in six career starts in the series. The visitors will counter with Zack Wheeler (10-10, 3.61 ERA) who for the most part has been excellent this year, but who comes in off a dreadful outing in which he was shelled for six runs over four-plus innings in his team's 10-3 loss to Washington. Wheeler has had varied success against Atlanta, but he's 0-2 with a 3.70 ERA this season. I'm going to give the slight nod to Teheran on the mound today and that's going to be just enough to tip the scales in our favor, play on ATLANTA.
