Money Line: -149.00 San Francisco (Home)
Result: Win
Play: San Francisco Giants
Rating: 8*
The San Francisco Giants are 26-17 home at AT&T Park this season, but they were swept by the Diamondbacks through four games in the Bay Area back in April. They countered by taking four straight in Arizona the following month and two of three last weekend.
Tonight they'll come up against Patrick Corbin (4-6, 4.90 ERA) who is 4-4 with a 3.47 ERA in 13 career starts against San Francisco. He did not factor in the decision after giving up five runs (two earned) in 5 1/3 innings in a win over the Giants on Saturday. He's struggled with the long ball all season and served up two homers in each of his last two starts. Current Giants are batting .303 over 185 at bats against the southpaw.
The Giants turn to Jeff Samardzija (8-5, 3.97) who surrendered four runs on eight hits in 7 1/3 innings when tossing opposite Corbin last weekend. He's 2-0 with a 2.93 ERA in two meetings on the season though. Samardzija has been hit pretty hard lately, but I think he'll turn it around tonight. We can note that Paul Goldschmidt is just 2-for-18 with eight strikeouts against the Shark.
Giants are 4-0 in their last four home games vs. a left-handed starter. Diamondbacks are 2-9 in their last 11 overall.
