Play: Colorado Rockies -1.5
Rating: 8*
The Colorado Rockies have taken two of three of this four-game series with the Philadelphia Phillies. Each of their wins in the set have been of the blowout variety (11-2, 8-3), and I think we'll see the Rockies claim this game by a wide margin.
Zach Eflin (1-2, 4.30 ERA) takes the ball for Philadelphia. The 22 year old rookie will be making his sixth start in the majors today. He held Atlanta to one run on six hits while going the distance in a 5-1 home win his last start. Pitching at Coors Field is a whole other matter though, and I expect him to be hit hard today in a let down spot following his last outing.
The Rockies turn to Tyler Chatwood (8-4, 3.08). Pitching in Colorado has his numbers looking way worse than they should. He's 3-4 with a 5.10 ERA home at Coors Field but 5-0 with a 1.30 ERA on the road. A 1.24 WHIP and a .237 batting average against overall suggests that he's been doing pretty well. He's 5-0 with a 2.32 ERA in seven day starts on the season and has yet to lose to Philadelphia, going 2-0 with a 2.12 ERA in three career meetings.
