Play: Cleveland Indians -1.5
Rating: 8*
The Cleveland Indians will kick off an 11-game homestand with a four-game series against the Los Angeles Halos Thursday night. Cleveland's Corey Kluber has started to pitch as you would expect from an ace again, and I like the Tribe to win this game by multiple runs.
Kluber (11-8, 3.22) is 3-0 with a 1.46 ERA through his last five starts. He pitched a three-hit complete game in a 6-2 victory back in June in his last meeting with the Halos, and the slumping Mike Trout (1-for-12 w/ eight strikeouts last three games) is just 1-for-11 against Kluber. Each of Cleveland's seven wins with Kluber on the mound has covered the runline.
Los Angeles turns to Jhoulys Chacin (3-7, 5.27) who will replace Tim Lincecum in the rotation. Chacin has made 15 starts this season, and in those games he was 3-7 with a 5.87 ERA.
The Halos have dropped six straight on the road without covering the runline even once.
