The Coach's NBA Monday Night SLAUGHTERHOUSE
(NBA) Philadelphia vs. San Antonio,
Total: 195.00 | -110.00 Over
Result: Win
Total: 195.00 | -110.00 Over
Result: Win
The 0-9 Sixers are still in pursuit of their first victory, and they've been coming awfully close lately. They looked like they had beaten the Rockets, but a late turnover saw them lose 88-87 on Friday. A road game against the defending champs in San Antonio isn't going to be easy, but the Spurs haven't been scoring like they did last year. I think the total here looks a little high in a game between two teams that rank near the bottom of the NBA in scoring.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Spurs Defense - They might not be scoring like they did last year, but the defense is still a strength for the Spurs. They rank 5th overall allowing 93.7 points per game.
2. Resting Starters - We know Gregg Popovich likes to take any opportunity he can to rest his stars. He's rested players in each of the last two meetings with Philly, both of those comfortable wins.
3. X-Factor - These two teams have seen the total go under in each of the last five head to head meetings.
Selection: This is a play on PHI@SA to go UNDER the total (10*)
