The Coach's NHL Total ANNIHILATOR
(NHL) Arizona vs. San Jose,
Total: 5.00 | 118.00 Under
Result: Win
Total: 5.00 | 118.00 Under
Result: Win
Both the visiting Arizona Coyotes and the hosts San Jose Sharks are coming into this contest on the back off two consecutive losses. Neither team has been able to find the net regularly in recent games, but I think this total is a little low considering the firepower.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Power Play - Don't be surprised to see plenty of action on the power play tonight. The Sharks have the fifth best power play in the NHL scoring on more than 23% of their opportunities and are 2-for-7 over their last two games. The Coyotes are doing good on the man advantage as well, scoring on just shy of 20% of their chances and are 4-for-15 over their last five games.
2. Goaltending - The Coyotes veteran netminder Mike Smith has yet to find the groove this season showing a 3.30 GAA over his 15 starts. His counterpart in the Sharks goal Antti Niemi has done better over his 15 games with a 2.56 GAA but it's clear that none of those two are in the best of form.
3. X-Factor - Arizona ranks near the bottom of the league giving up more than three goals per game on average.
Selection: This is a play on ARI@SJS to go over the total (8*).
