The Philadelphia Flyers and the New York Rangers will conclude a home and home series today. The Rangers won last night's meeting 3-0 and have shutout the Flyers in both meetings so far this season also winning 2-0 in New York on Nov 19. Another win is likely in the cards this afternoon, and I think the home team is well worth the price.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Henrik Lundqvist - The veteran has had a disappointing start to the season but perhaps his last home start was a sign of better things to come as he shutout the Canadiens in a 5-0 victory last Sunday. Expect Lundqvist to follow that up with another stellar performance today as he is a perfect 8-0-0 behind a 1.13 GAA over his last eight starts against the Flyers at MSG.
2. Road Woes - The Flyers have dropped six straight on the road, and home ice has been a significant advantage in recent meetings between these two teams with the hosts picking up the win in five of the last games.
3. X-Factor - Rick Nash is leading the Rangers with 16 goals and 24 points. He's scored in four consecutive games, a run I think he'll extend today.
Selection: This is a play on the New York Rangers (8*)
