The Coach's NHL Wednesday Night SURE SHOT
(NHL) St. Louis vs. Chicago,
Money Line: -140.00 Chicago (Home)
Result: Win
Money Line: -140.00 Chicago (Home)
Result: Win
The Chicago Blackhawks are rolling, winning six of their last seven only allowing three goals or more twice. Tonight's opponents the St. Louis Blues have done well lately as well, winning three straight on the road. They've struggled in Chicago over recent season's though, and I like the price we get on the home team to continue their home ice dominance.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. The Blackhawks' Special Teams - No other team in the NHL is as efficient at killing off penalties as Chicago. They've gone 22-for-24 on the penalty kill over their last nine games, showing a 91.3% success rate for the season. They've been quite efficient on the power play themselves lately as well with at least one power play goal in six of their last eight games.
2. Recent Meetings - The Blues have lost five straight games in Chicago getting outscored 19-6 and have only won six of the last 27 at United Center.
3. X-Factor - Chicago's Kris Versteeg has been partnered up with Brad Richards and Patrick Kane lately. It has worked wonders for the 28 year old who has 11 points over his last seven games after assisting both of Richard's goals in the 4-1 win at Los Angeles Saturday.
Selection: This is a play on the Chicago Blackhawks (8*)
