The Coach's NHL Friday *SURE SHOT* - (Going for 6-0)
(NHL) Montreal vs. Chicago,
Money Line: -170.00 Chicago (Home)
Result: Win
Money Line: -170.00 Chicago (Home)
Result: Win
Two Original Six teams will clash in Chicago tonight as the Blackhawks are welcoming a slumping Montreal Canadiens team to United Center. The visitors have lost four of their last five, mostly down to poor play on offense. That doesn't bode well coming up against Chicago's top rated defense, and I predict a comfortable home win.
Here are my keys to the game:
1. Hawks On A Roll - Chicago is coming into this contest as winners of seven of their last eight. The lone loss (4-1 at Vancouver) is the only game they allowed more than three goals outscoring opponents 31-14 over this stretch. The Canadiens have scored only nine goals over their last five games, with two of the goals coming on the power play. Don't count on any goals on the man advantage tonight though, The Blackhawks have killed off 18 consecutive penalties over their last six games.
2. Home Cookin' - History has favored the home team when these two teams match up with the hosts taking down 10 of the last 11 meetings. The Blackhawks have won all of the last four meetings in Chicago.
3. X-Factor - Patrick Kane scored twice on four shots in Wednesday's 4-1 win against the Blues. He has eight goals and seven assists over his last nine games.
Selection: This is a play on the Chicago Blackhawks (8*)
